All activities, public circulation authorized between 6 a.m. and noon

The state will go under a 6 p.m. curfew between 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. daily for two weeks (until May 18) starting Wednesday as a measure to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Between 6 a.m. and 12 p.m., all commercial activities, public movements and the like would be allowed and article 144 of the Cr.PC would be in force to prevent the gathering of five or more people in public places.

From 12 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next morning, all commercial and public activities, including all businesses, shops, establishments, offices, educational establishments, restaurants and the like, must be closed, in accordance with the directives issued in an order of government Tuesday.

However, essential services, including hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, pharmacies, print and electronic media, telecommunications, Internet services, broadcasting services, computer and information technology services. Sanitation, cold storage and warehousing and private security services would be exempt from the curfew. Manufacturing industries and agricultural holdings were also exempted.

Public movement

During curfew hours, all public movement would be restricted and those related to the list of offices and establishments declared in the essential services category would be exempt.

In addition, state and central government officials, including High Court staff, local bodies on emergency duty, have been exempted.

Medical staff, pregnant women and patients, people getting vaccinated against COVID in designated health facilities, people using health care in public or private health facilities, transport of people in private vehicles to benefit from health services , people coming from or going to airports, train stations, bus stations on the production of valid tickets are also exempt from the curfew.

Transport

All interstate and intrastate movements of essential and non-essential goods were exempted, while local transport services like rickshaws, taxis and city buses would only be allowed between 6 a.m. and noon. Intra and inter-district public transport and interstate public transport would not be permitted during curfew hours.

Weddings

The government reduced the number of guests allowed at weddings to 20 and only functions such as weddings that were already scheduled and could not be rescheduled would be allowed with permission from local authorities.

The district administration, police units and other heads of mission have been requested to issue laissez-passer to persons falling under the exempt category in order to facilitate their movement.
