Doctors at Sidhdhanta Hospital said that in the past 15 days, the hospital has treated non-Covid patients. Fifty percent were Covid patients and the other 50 were non-Covid, but now it’s a completely non-Covid hospital.
Public hospitals were also due to start treating non-Covid patients, but, due to the young doctors’ strike, this was delayed.
The All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has adopted a wait and watch strategy with phased unlock. If the number of corona cases increases with unlocking, more beds will be needed, according to AIIMS authorities. So hospitals will wait for the corona trend to unravel to unlock.
