Gujarat BJP chairman CR Paatil criticized Congress on Tuesday and said the opposition party should stop threatening him for the free distribution of 5,000 doses of Remdesivir in Surat.
Mr Paatil sparked controversy last week after announcing the free distribution of the key drug COVID-19 in his hometown of Surat, amid a drug shortage.
Congress of State on Monday demanded Mr. Paatil’s arrest for alleged illegal purchase and storage of the drug.
Speaking to press representatives on Tuesday, Paatil said the entire batch of injections had been obtained through legal channels. “We bought the injections because they are needed to save people. If they can’t appreciate our efforts, Congress should stop threatening us.
