Bose served on the then Delhi Soccer Association executive committee for many years
Veteran football administrator and Hindustan FC owner Dilip Kumar Bose has died at a local New Delhi hospital after battling COVID-19.
Bose died at the Indian Spinal Cord Injury Center in Vasant Kunj on Saturday evening. He was in his early sixties. Most of the Bose family members are also currently suffering from the fatal infection.
His father died on April 29, the day Bose was admitted to hospital.
Bose served on the Delhi Soccer Association executive committee at the time for many years. He was also part of the organizing committees whenever Delhi organized international or national competitions.
Football Delhi mourned Bose’s death and offered condolences to his family, saying he was one of the strongest pillars of football in the city.
“His passion and dedication to football was second to none. He made a huge contribution to football in Delhi, and it was through his hard work, commitment and dedication that he made Hindustan FC a name in India, ”said Football Delhi President Shaji Prabhakaran. “His death is a personal loss. I have known him for over 20 years. We will remember Mr. DK Bose as a capable administrator who gave his all for the game. It will be difficult for Delhi football to fill the void left by him.. He will be sorely missed. ”
