National spokesman for the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Ministry of Minority Affairs Nawab Malik today accused opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis (BJP) of working against the reserve law (Law on socially and educationally backward classes, 2018) and prevent the Maratha quota from being secured.
The state government strongly believes that the Maratha community must get the reserve. But Fadnavis, who lies, sends lawyers to court by paying their fees. The lawyers handed over to the former police commissioner in the case of former Interior Minister Anil Deshmukh are also linked to the BJP, ” Malik alleged. He also claimed that Fadnavis had played a decisive role in the legal battle.
Fadnavis has repeatedly said that the Maha Vikas Aghadi government cannot reserve for the Maratha community. The lawyers, who are fighting the case (challenging the Maratha quota), have the backing of the BJP. The BJP is also working to destabilize Maharashtra, ” he said.
