Bhopal: A 15 km cyclathon was organized on Sunday by Bhopal Municipal Corporation as part of the “Fit India” program. The sports and youth department organized the event. Police Director General Vivek Johri reported the marathon from Lal Parade grounds at 7:30 a.m.
About 1,000 people have traveled the city to promote fitness and health.
Sports director Pawan Kumar Jain said cycling is not only beneficial for health, but also helpful in freeing the environment from pollution. The cyclathon was held in all districts of the state, he added.
Participants followed a fixed route from the Lal Parade grounds via Kali Mandir, Moti Masjid, Hamidia Hospital, Lalghati Square and Rangmahal Square. The cyclo-marathon has retired to the TT Nagar stadium.
Trialthon Academy cyclist Aadhya Singh was celebrated for completing the fastest 15 kilometers and reaching the destination in the shortest possible time. Athletes, coaches, administrative officials, staff and the public actively participated in the cyclathon.
