Born September 25, 1927, Jagmohan Malhotra, better known as Jagmohan, was a former public servant who held several key positions in his career, including Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and Goa and Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.

Jagmohan served two terms as governor of Jammu and Kashmir – from 1984 to 89, then from January to May 1990. He was also first elected to Lok Sabha in 1996 and served as Union Minister urban development and tourism. He received the Padma Shri in 1971, Padma Bhushan in 1977 and Padma Vibhushan in 2016.
