Apple contract manufacturers Foxconn and Wistron, computer company Dell and state-owned company Lava are among 19 companies that have applied for investments under the production incentive program for the manufacture of computer hardware, a declared the Ministry of Electronics and Informatics.
According to the ministry, the program is expected to lead to a total output worth around ₹ 1.6 lakh crore.
Out of total output, computer hardware companies have offered output worth over ₹ 1.35 lakh crore, and domestic firms have offered output in excess of ₹ 25,000 crore, Meity said in a statement. .
“The electronic hardware manufacturing companies that applied in the computer hardware companies category are Dell, ICT (Wistron), Flextronics, Rising Stars Hi-Tech (Foxconn) and Lava,” Meity said. Fourteen other companies also filed claims.
