Confident of the NDA forming the govt. at UT after Assembly election, says Modi
A few days after the fall of the government of V. Narayanasamy in Pondicherry, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that he had not cooperated with the Center in the implementation of the programs and the use of the funds.
In a public meeting held here, he said that while people voted for Congress in 2016 with hopes and aspirations, party leaders have tried to please the high command. “I came here three years ago. Now I could see more happiness among people for two reasons. One is due to the development work that I inaugurated this morning … The second is the removal of the government from Congress, ”he said.
Quoting video of a poor translation made by Mr Narayanasamy during the recent visit of Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi, Mr Modi said that instead of telling the truth, “he lied to his own accord and to the nation”. (Mr Narayanasamy later stated that he had indeed visited the area where the woman complained of lack of attention). “It is the culture of Congress to spread lies,” said the Prime Minister.
Mr. Modi was convinced that the NDA formed a government in the territory of the Union after the elections to the Assembly. “Such a government will be the government of the people and the high command will be the people. I want to see UT [the Union Territory] become the BEST [business hub, education hub, spiritual hub and tourism hub]. The NDA government would focus on coastal development and revive the cooperative sector to improve the lot of women, he said.
Mr. Modi said Congress pocketed “several medals by spreading lies”. “The party follows the policy of division and reign of our colonial master. Sometimes they pit one region against another and sometimes one community against another. They are the gold, silver and bronze medalists in spreading lies, ”he said.
Referring to Mr Gandhi’s statement on the need for a separate Ministry of Fisheries, Mr Modi said that in May 2019 itself, a Ministry of Fisheries was formed by the NDA government. Over the past two years, the ministry’s budget allocation has increased by 80%. “The credit for forming a ministry of tribal affairs also goes to the NDA government under Atal Bihari Vajpayee,” he said.
Congress “will never miss the opportunity to label others as anti-democrats,” he said, adding that the party should look in the mirror to understand reality. “Panchayat elections have taken place in Ladakh and recently in Gujarat. Even after the Supreme Court ordered elections for civic bodies to be held in Union territory, the Congressional government did not hold them. But the party calls the others anti-democrats ”, he declared
The legislator-designate and president of BJP Pondicherry V. Saminathan and former Minister A. Namassivayam spoke at the meeting.
