All India Tennis Association (AITA) President Anil Jain ensured 100% support from the national federation and begged the players to give their 100%, in an interaction with them at the end of training camp High Performance Girls’ Show at the LTAD Complex here Friday.
Unable to join the players there due to other commitments, Rajya Sabha MP Anil Jain said: “You are the future of the country. Only you can put Indian tennis on the world stage ”.
To find a solution
Explaining that the national federation plans to set up the national tennis center and support around 30 players, the president of IATA said that everything will be done to solve all the problems of Indian tennis and find solutions.
Hailing Ankita Raina’s doubles triumph at a WTA event in Melbourne earlier today, Anil Jain told the girls in a virtual meeting, “You can be like Ankita and Sania Mirza. You can go further ”.
The intense fortnightly training was followed by a knockout tournament, in which Akanksha Nitture defeated Jagmeet Kaur 6-3, 6-3 in the final.
Country coach Zeeshan Ali praised the players for their efforts and announced that the champion would secure a wild card entry into the main draw of one of the ITF’s women’s tournaments scheduled for March.

Summarizing the experience on behalf of the players, Reshma Maruri, who beat Kashish Bhatia for third place, thanked coaches Zeeshan, Namita Bal and Shivika Burman.
“We have lost Akhtar Ali, a great legend. But, Mr. Zeeshan quickly returned to the camp. We are grateful for his commitment and dedication, ”said Reshma, praising Akhtar’s son Zeeshan.
All the players and coaches were unanimous in their appreciation of physio Anand Dubey for taking good care of the players.
On behalf of IATA, CEO Akhouri Bishwadeep hoped that the national federation would be able to generate more resources in the near future, in order to provide the best possible support to the players through the national tennis center.
