India had their first group practice session on 10 June at the ground adjacent to the Ageas Bowl in Southampton, five days after training in the run-up to the World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand.

The WTC Finals are to be held from June 18 to 22.

This was the first time that players were mixed with their teammates on the field after being allowed to run in the gym and the main playing field in different time slots upon completion of the third day of their hard quarantine in the UK.

The players had a full net session where skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant batted for a long time and faced throw-downs as well.

The bowlers also had an intense session with all the key players – Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj and Ravichandran Ashwin – participating in the practice session.

Earlier, players were allowed out of their Hilton hotel rooms, a Hampshire Bowl property, on the third day, after which they began their individual training.

The players were also provided with basic equipment in their rooms for exercise purpose.
