He will undergo surgery for appendicitis.
Punjab Kings captain Rahul KL Rahul is missing the rest of the Indian Premier League after undergoing immediate surgery to remove the inflamed appendix late on Saturday night.
PBKS said in a statement, “KL Rahul complained of severe abdominal pain last night and after not responding to the medication, he was taken to the emergency room for further tests. The diagnosis led to a case of acute appendicitis. This will be resolved surgically and for safety measures, he is transferred to the hospital for the same. “
As a result, Mayank Agarwal replaced Rahul as the PBKS captain ahead of the match against Delhi Capital on Sunday. Rahul currently holds an “Orange Cap” with 331 runs.
Given the mandatory period of post-operative care and quarantine, Rahul is unlikely to participate further in this edition of the IPL.
