South Africa fast bowler Enrique Norte of Delhi Capitals will not be available for the match against Rajasthan Royals on Thursday as their COVID-19 report is still awaited.
However, the good news for DC is that Kagiso Rabada has cleared his RT-PCR tests and joined the team’s training session.
There are reports that Nortje has tested positive, but Capital Management has not yet come up with any official statement. According to the IPL SOP, all players with positive results are tested once again to ensure that the first RT-PCR result was not incorrect.
Natje and fellow fast bowler Rabada traveled together and reached Mumbai on 6 April. It was expected that they would be available from the second game after completing seven days of hard quarantine and a negative RT-PCR test result.
It now appears that only Rabada will be available for selection as DC tweeted a picture of their first training session.
“At this point, we only know that the results of Enrique Narje are awaited because he is in quarantine. We can tell you further only after getting the exam results.
Delhi capitals Axar Patel are in isolation after testing positive of COVID-19 before the tournament started. Axar has not yet fully recovered from the virus.
