The WTC final against the Black Caps will take place in Southampton from 18 June, followed by the Test against England from 4 August.

The fit again pair of all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and batsman Hanuma Vihari returned to the 20-strong Indian squad announced on Friday for next month’s World Test Championship final against New Zealand and a five-match series against England.

The BCCI said in a press release that the selectors also selected four standby players – Abhimanyu Easwaran, Pradish Krishna, Avesh Khan and Arjan Nagwaswala.

KL Rahul, who recently underwent a surgery after diagnosis of COVID-19 infected appendicitis during the IPL, and Wriddhiman Saha, are under his fitness.

Both Jadeja and Vihari suffered injuries during the series against Australia earlier this year.

Out-of-form spinner Kuldeep Yadav and fast bowler Navdeep Saini have been dropped from the squad, which is expected to leave for England for the twin assignment in the third week of this month.
