Jammu and Kashmir will roll out vaccination for people aged 18 to 44 from May 1.
An official said doses of Covaxin will be administered in Srinagar and Jammu districts during the first phase.
“Covaxin is launching in J&K capitals for people aged 18 and over who have pre-registered,” an official said.
An official said that Shri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital (SMHS), which ran out of vaccine stocks two days ago, would start inoculation from 4 p.m.
“Those who took Covishield as their first dose will only take the second dose of Covishield,” the official said.
In the past two days, stocks of Covishield have run out in Kashmir, leaving hundreds of registered people anxious.
