On the third day of the COVID-19 inoculation campaign in Maharashtra, 18,166 health workers, or 68% of the beneficiaries targeted for the day, received doses of the vaccine on Wednesday, according to an official statement.
On Tuesday, 14,883 health workers, or 52.68 of the beneficiaries targeted for the day, received doses of COVID-19 vaccine in 274 centers.
With that, the total of 51,650 healthcare workers received the first dose of vaccine since the campaign began on Jan. 16, except Sunday and Monday when the exercise remained suspended, he said.
“18,166 health workers (68% of beneficiaries scheduled for the day) received the first dose of vaccine in 267 centers across the state by 7:00 p.m. today. The final percentage may change as the immunization s’ is continued after 7 pm in some centers, “It said.
The government said 312 of 18,166 healthcare workers had received Covaxin, bringing the total number of recipients of the vaccine developed by Bharat Biotech in Maharashtra to 881.
