A 30-year-old man was arrested in Palghar district, Maharashtra, for allegedly killing a woman he was in a relationship with and hiding her body within the walls of his apartment, police said on Saturday.
The accused killed the woman (32) as she pressured him to marry him, according to an official statement.
The skeleton of the 32-year-old victim, who was killed at first sight in October last year, was found in the accused’s apartment in the village of Vangaon, he said.
“The accused and the victim had been in a relationship for five years. She was last seen with the accused on October 21,” the newspaper said.
When asked by the victim’s family members where she was, the accused used to tell them that she had been to Vapi in Gujarat.
They eventually approached the police because the victim never returned, the statement said.
