Paytm, a digital financial services platform, announced on Friday the launch of the Covid-19 Vaccine Finder on its mini App Store.
The researcher is following 780 districts in India to find out the availability of vaccine locations in his locality. It allows citizens to filter vaccination slots seamlessly based on location and age.
It provides real-time automated alerts when new slots open and facilitates the process of appointing registered citizens.
The platform helps citizens check the availability of vaccination slots on a specific date by individually entering different PIN codes or details of the district as well as the age group (18+ or 45+).
In the event that the slots become full in the near future, users can select Paytm’s real-time alerts option once a lot is free.
The automated process reduces the hassle and ordeal of repeatedly refreshing the platform for new slots. The data comes in real time from the CoWIN API, where a time slot can be reserved for getting vaccinated in order to protect yourself and your loved ones.
The launch of Paytm Covid-19 Vaccine Finder offers some relief to the end user by reducing the hassle of checking real-time slot availability directly through the Paytm app and getting the jab at the earliest.
“We have introduced a new feature to find slots for the Covid vaccine in the nearby community and set alerts when new slots open. We believe that with the combined efforts of government, organizations and citizens, we are on the right track to recovery. Our priority is to build collective resistance to the deadly virus as a nation, thereby catalyzing the process of collective immunity, ”said a spokesperson for Paytm.
The company aims to allow as many citizens as possible to benefit from the service, to be vaccinated in a timely manner and to avoid overcrowding in the centers.
The Indian government launched the world’s largest mass vaccination campaign for citizens between the ages of 18 and 44 on May 1, 2021, to ease the chaos caused by the second wave of the pandemic. Vaccination, along with strategic lockdown, will help flatten the curve and boost the country’s herd immunity at a faster rate.
