Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh): A new 60-bed ward installed at the Covid-19 Hospital of the Government Medical College (GMC) became operational here on Tuesday. The deputy of the city of Ratlam, Chetanya Kashyap, inaugurated the district.
The Chetanya Kashyap Foundation (CKF) provided imported oxygen concentrators worth Rs 70 lakh for the new district.
Speaking on the occasion, Kashyap said the new service would benefit corona patients as more positive patients could be treated. According to him, 70 oxygen concentrators with a capacity of 10 liters each were imported. The imported oxygen concentrator generates oxygen from the air itself.
“A new PSA Technology oxygen plant at a cost of Rs 1.02 crore will be installed at the hospital next week,” he added.
Kashyap said GMC Covid-19 hospital plays an important role in combating Covid and providing medical facilities to corona patients, but the waiting period has increased due to the increase in the number of cases .
With the addition of 60 new beds from Tuesday, the total oxygen bed capacity at the GMC Covid-19 hospital has increased to 410. “GMC’s total bed capacity will now be 510 beds,” added Kashyap.
District collector Gopalchandra Dad, SP Gaurav Tiwari, GMC Dean Dr Jitendra Gupta, RSS Vibhag Karyavah Ashutosh Sharma, District BJP Chairman Rajendra Singh Lunera and other party office officials were present on the occasion.
