The Supreme Court on Saturday refused to suspend the counting of votes for the panchayat polls in Uttar Pradesh. The Supreme Court also said that no victory rallies will be allowed during the scoring, starting on Sunday or after the process is completed.

The State Election Commission, she said, will strengthen the accountability of Official Gazette officers for complying with COVID-19 protocols at counting centers.

He also ordered the state SEC to keep CCTV footage from counting centers in the states until the Allahabad High Court finishes hearing the pleadings before it.
