Thisara Perera has represented Sri Lanka in six Tests, 166 ODIs and 84 T20s.
Sri Lankan all-rounder and former captain Thisara Perera announced his retirement from international cricket on Monday with immediate effect.
Perera, in his letter to Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), said that he felt the right time for him to step aside and pave the way for the youth harvest.
The 32-year-old, who represented Sri Lanka in six Tests, 166 ODIs and 84 T20s, is expected to play franchise cricket worldwide.
Perera noted in his letter, “I am proud that I was able to represent Sri Lanka in seven Cricket World Cups and was a member of the victory against India in the 2014 T20 World Cup.” For SLC.
SLC acknowledges Pereira’s contribution to the success of the national team. SLC CEO Ashley D’Silva said in a statement, “This Dara was a brilliant all-rounder who has contributed a lot to Sri Lanka cricket as a player and participated in some of the country’s finest cricket moments.”
