IPC (M) Secretary General Sitaram Yechury called the government’s plans to continue the Central Vista project “grotesque” despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Citing reports that the Center has granted the necessary environmental permits for the remaining buildings on the project, Yechury questioned his schedule.

“This is ludicrous. No money for oxygen and vaccines because our brothers and sisters die while waiting for a hospital bed to be cremated in the parking lots BUT Modi will waste public money on feeding his megalomaniac vanity. Stop this crime, ”he said in a tweet.
Opposition parties have criticized the government for building the Central Vista project, with a brand new parliament building as the centerpiece during the coronavirus pandemic.
