Ujjain: Vikram Vidyalaya (VU) clerk Uday Narayan Shukl died on Friday afternoon. He was admitted to a private city hospital in the morning due to illness (not corona).

A friend of Sadness has descended on academia across the state, including VU. He is survived by two sons and a daughter.

The VU family have expressed their sincere condolences to their bereaved relatives for the sudden and untimely passing of Professor Shukl.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Akhilesh Kumar Pandey, Registrar-in-charge Dr DK Bagga, along with university professors, administrative officials and staff called his relatives and paid him rich tributes.

His cremation took place at Triveni Ghat in the evening as directed by the government.

In his condolence message, former Vice Chancellor of VU and Rani Durgavati University, Professor Ramrajesh Mishra said that Professor Shukl started his academic career as a business professor in the Department of Higher Education.

His first term as registrar was at Rani Durgavati University, Jabalpur, when Professor Mishra was vice-chancellor.

“The Narmada River Health Test, initiated by Professor Shukl, is an academic milestone. His contribution to the conservation of the Narmada will always be remembered, ”he added.
